Solar Systems Ltd. – Company Profile

Solar Systems Ltd is part of a group of Maltese companies founded in 1989 with over then 20 years experience in the renewable energies sector: solar water heaters, PV’s (photovoltaic) and wind turbines. The Group is the importer and distributor, in Malta and some bordering countries, of a number of well known manufacturers of renewable energies products. Few years ago the ownership decided to start expanding both product range and market volume by manufacturing its own stainless steel marine grade boilers for sanitary water and by looking at the international market.

Solar Systems Ltd is the manufacturing company within this group and it is specialized in the production of stainless steel 316L boilers for solar water heating systems of domestic sanitary water.

The production line started in 2003 and takes place in Marsa Industrial Estate, MALTA. The facility covers an area of 1500 square meters where the boilers and the insulated copper closed circuit pipes are processed. The product, from conception to design and manufacturing, is self sufficiently managed in Malta with mostly EU raw materials. Qualified workers and an international staff allow Solar Systems Ltd to establish its presence with knowledge and professionalism in the solar thermal industry.

Mission Statement

To continue designing and manufacturing quality stainless steel 316L boilers for solar water heater systems while researching and developing new models suitable for the international target markets.

To design quality stainless steel solar boilers manufactured under an ISO 9000 (quality certification) manufacturing plant.

Future developments

Solar Systems Ltd has, at the moment, important projects on the table. To mention a few:

Solar Systems Ltd is receiving support from Malta Enterprise in research, development and innovation; this will allow the company to study and produce new boilers in different sizes and new installation systems.

It is also integrating the existing products offer with new ideas in cooperation with other international partners in the field.

Considering the solid base of quality products established in Malta, Solar Systems Ltd is now facing the international markets arena with the confidence of EU made products quality and EU raw materials.

The manufacturing process is undergoing a few radical changes to achieve better performance and an environmentally sensitive production plant. Some examples: reuse of discharged water, installation of PV panels, changes in the welding techniques, reuse of poly-Styrofoam.
